Under the general supervision of the TV Traffic Manager, this position performs a variety of traffic support services. Work requires a broad knowledge of TV computer software, as well as the ability to exercise good judgment in library and shipping practices.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

Duties listed may vary in terms of relative importance, and others may be added or eliminated as this position develops. In addition, specific positions within this job title may have minor variations in duties.
  • Assists TV Traffic Manager in creation and transfer of all MPTV broadcast logs.
  • Assists with routine data entry, editing and maintenance using Protrack software.
  • Serves as tape library coordinator for broadcast tapes.
  • Serves as shipping person for Programming and Traffic departments' packages.
  • Serves as back-up for traffic personnel during heavy traffic use such as pledge drives, vacations and upcoming holidays.
  • May train other support staff and/or student workers.
  • Uses standard office software/hardware and other office tools and equipment.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency; an Associate degree is preferred; plus knowledge of the broadcasting industry or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies:

  • Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of a personal computer, computer applications and software such as Windows, Excel and electronic mail.
  • Excellent ability to process details.
  • Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data, and prepare reports from such records.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to compose a wide variety of correspondence.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, students, and the general public.

Start Date:

This position supports the BMBPS and is available to start immediately.

Hours:

Part - Time, hours to be determined.

Salary:

Salary is determined by years of experience credit and internal salary equity. Salary determination will be only based on years of credited experience that is listed on the job application, please include complete work history.
