Job Description
This full-time exempt position through the Center for Transportation Research of the University of Tennessee will be funded through a grant from the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). The position will be located in the TDOT office in Nashville to provide support to the Long Range Planning Division.


Responsibilities
Will assist in coordinating administrative and operational activities for the State Planning and Research (SPR) Work Program. May monitor, under the direction of the supervisor, work processes and provide instructional support and knowledge to LRP staff as needed. Work tasks will include, but are not limited to, the development of work programs and various program reports, the development and monitoring of project budgets, expenditure reports, and spreadsheets to track program expenditures, and the development of various contract and agreement documents.

Qualifications
Minimum/Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree. Degree in Business Administration or Finance is preferred, but other degrees will be considered with related experience.
  • 2-4 years of office experience, which includes 1-2 years of contracting office experience in a local/state government agency.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, contractual & invoice management skills, and strong organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Proven customer service skills are essential as this position will be working with program staff and grantees throughout the State of TN.


Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • 4-6 years of office experience, which includes 3-5 years of contracting office experience in a local/state government agency.
  • Advanced Excel skills (knowledge of Pivot Tables).


Requires residency in the Nashville area as the TDOT office is located in downtown Nashville.
