Job Description:

The four-week program focuses on careers in transportation. UNCP's Summer Transportation Institute Assistant Coordinator will:
Assists with academic instruction,
Organizes resource material
Sets up laboratory activities
Assists with coordination of field trips
Assists with program opening and closing activities Accompanies participants to camps or acivities, as necessary Assists with weekend activities, as necessary
Interacts with the faculty, participants and administrative staff Performs other duties assigned

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate quality and safety before and after care at all locations.
  • Ensure that all program area schedules are completed satisfactorily in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate program and administrative records.
  • Ensure that the site is kept clean, organized, and free of litter.
  • Be responsible for knowing, understanding, training, and executing all camp policies and emergency procedures associated with the camp.
  • Interact effectively with the camp staff as a total system, with campers' best interest in mind.
  • Be a leader in parent communication and address parent concerns in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the various administrative tasks necessary for camp to run efficiently.

  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills

    The camp dates are July 10 - August 4. But the position is grant funded for a between June 19 - August 11, 2023.

    Management Preference:
    Minimum 1 year experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with high school students, or in a related field.
